Invent your own key, if you haven't got one from another Power Crypto user. Use the key button, click New, enter your nickname of choice and your newly invented secret key (or the key you just got from another user). To invent an own key, the Key Generator is recommended.
For encryption of plain text or arbitrary files, enter the text/full path name (wildchars allowed) in the frame Plain Data, at suitable places in the main window.
Choose a key of your choice, from the drop-down list box Nicknames of Keys.
Start the encryption using the locked padlock button.
Encrypted text may be selected and copied the usual way, for example into the body of an e-mail.
Encrypted files may be stored, copied and moved the usual way, but will not reveal any useful information until decrypted with the same key as they were encrypted with.
Enter encrypted data that is to be decrypted, in the frame Encrypted Data, at suitable place.
Make sure you are using both the same key and the same options as for the encryption.
Start the decryption with the unlocked padlock button.
